Firefox Going Strong
July 17th, 2006
I have often talked about security on the internet and it makes me very happy to see the browser, Firefox, is doing better than ever. It’s a great browser with lots of great features.
A dutch company named OneStat has reported that the amount of Firefos-users has gone up again and the total amount of internet users browsing with Firefox is now 13%. At the same time Internet Explorer has dropped 2,12% but still sit on 83% of the browser market.
Each of the 2 browers got their own strongholds. If you ask in England which browser they use the most you will find that Internet Explorer is sitting on 86% on that market while Germany is totally different. Only 56% is using Internet Explorer while 40% is using Firefox (last 4% is using other browsers of course, like Opera).
So why do I like Firefox that much?
Because it’s very secure, they actually respond to bug reports and it can blog pop-up windows like no other browser I’ve tried. With that many users of Internet Explorer all the crook companies and individuals still make spyware, worms, and viruses for that browser and almost never target Firefox.
