British Happiness Lessons

July 10th, 2006

I’m not sure what happened to history lessons and the unbelievable boring math lessons but it sem like the dear british schools are in for a change. 2000 kids at English schools are to have classes in happiness.

The children will take self-esteem classes to raise standards and cut crime,” writes the Independent. “Lessons in happiness are to be introduced for 11-year-olds in schools to fight a huge rise in depression, self-harm and anti-social behaviour.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t it helpĀ if parents actually told their kids to get off the computer and get outside? -And maybe the adults should follow the kids so they don’t end up as sociopaths who need special happiness classes in school?

Biology class was my big thing back then. You can’t possible begin to understand how many times I asked the female teacher to explain the thing about the birds and the beers.
