Tatyana Simanava’s Blonde Moment

Sunday, May 14th, 2006

In the beginning I was not sure wether I should call this a “New York minute” and a “blonde moment” but after 30 minutes of just wondering (and quite a bit of laughing) about how she managed to pull this one off I decided to call it a “blonde moment”.

Tatyana Simanava (she’s a blonde russian model working in New York) was on a luxury bus to a bridal modeling gig when she had to go pee on the bus’ toilet. I’m not sure how she managed to do it but she actually found the exit door and tumbled out at 40 miles per hour and landed on the street with a bang.

Tatyana Simanava is okay and didn’t get hurt too much.
She was still talking when the ambulance took her to the hospital.

LED Message Belt

Friday, May 12th, 2006

Imagine going to a club with your belt saying “I fuck on the first date” with bright red text. You will instantly be the biggest hit the club has seen for years. Some might think it’s “oh so 90s” but it’s actually not. It’s a great gadget for those who like a bit of fun and you can program it to say whatever you want it to say.

Personally I want mine to say “10 inches” or “worldsex.com” :D

It goes for around $35.95 on the internet. This belt can be set to 4 display types: scroll left to right, scroll up to down, scroll down to up, and flickering. The scroll speed can also be adjusted from three display speeds.

Blue Cheese Perfume

Friday, May 12th, 2006

If anyone ever told you that you smell like an old cheese things are looking good for you. The company that makes the famous Stilton blue cheese has come up with a brand new perfume that makes the most of us go “WTF?”

I’m not bullshitting you. The new perfume is called Eau de Stilton and according to the company it “recreate the earthy and fruity aroma in an eminently wearable perfume” and it was actually made as part of a campaign to persuade more people to eat the company’s cheese product.

I might be rude now but you can name a turd whatever you want, it’s still a turd. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck chances are it is a duck. On the other hand, this might actually be what I need to finally become popular with the women. At least those who like cheese.

A brand new report by Webroot Software says the amount of adware and spyware has gone through the roof.

Webrrot says that the first quarter of 2006 saw a 15 percentage point jump in the share of consumer PCs infected with spyware: from 72 percent in Q4 2005 to 87 percent in Q1 2006. The average instances of spyware on infected machines increased 18 percent over the previous quarter to an average of 29.5 instances of spyware per infected PC, up from 24.9 instances in Q4 2005. Webroot also witnessed a significant rise in Trojan horse infection rates with an increase to 29 percent, up from 24 percent during the fourth quarter of 2005. The overall incidence of the most prevalent Trojan horse, Trojan–Downloader–Zlob, doubled during the first quarter.

World Cup Sickness

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

I’m not sure wether to laugh or feel sorry for the business owners about this but it made me go “what the fuck?”.

A dutch insurance company is offering companies a special policy to cover staff who suddenly gets hit by some “odd” sickness during the World Cup.

Companies are already scared of having loads of workers staying at home to watch important games and God knows they should be worried. God damn there will be some killer games coming up this summer. England and Sweden in the same group, Netherlands and Argentina in another group and what about group E? -USA, Czech Republic and Italy in the same group. Man I can fully understand why some companies are jumping on the dutch insurance company’s offer.

Tough Guy Airborne

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

You gotta see this movie. It’s about Steve Beatty who joined Lt. Kevin Davis for a ride in his $24 million F-18. Flying is not my thing (to say it the least) but Steve is ready for a ride that has now entertained thousands of people on the internet. The first time I saw Steve chewing his gum like a cowboy I knew this could end up extremely funny. And it did.

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

Least Patient Kid Ever

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

I swear if this was my kid he would be sleeping and eating in a tent in the garden because he sure as hell look like a nutcase. Imagine how this kid would react if you told him “no more TV today young man” or “Time for bed…”. He would take a big bite of your arme and mumble something only people in the ancient Egypt would understand.

Windows Defender

Tuesday, May 9th, 2006

You would be surprised if you knew how many people don’t protect their computer when they’re surfing the internet. I can’t stress this enough; you have to protect yourself on the internet. It only takes one single website with malicious software to screw up a lot for you. I recently spend 3 whole days trying to clean up a notebook with extremely important files and business info on it, without any luck. So you can probaly understand why I try to protect my computers as much as I possible can and that includes Windows Defender.

Windows Defender is a product from Microsoft and it mainly helps you protect yourself against spyware, pop ups and threats caused by spyware and other unwanted software. The reason why I decided to mention it right now is because it’s free and if you don’t want to pay for protection you have other options, like Windows Defender.

When all that is said and done I have to admit that I’m still a huge fan of the older programs like Norton AntiVirus, McAfee and Kaspersky. They are dedicated antivirus programs that has been around for a long time and they are working hard on fighting all kind of things that can hit your computer.

Vista’s security features

Monday, May 8th, 2006

As some of you might have seen in the media Microsoft has been working on the new Windows Vista (previously known as Longhorn) for quite some time. Windows XP (and Windows 98 for that matter) has been a bit of a nightmare to many surfers because of the many security flaws that has enabled hackers to install malicious software on our computers and gain access to personal info, change startup pages, pop windows while you surfer, ect.

Analyst Andrew Jaquith from Yankee Group expects Vista to significantly shrink the aftermarket for anti-spyware and desktop firewalls, simply because Microsoft has managed to come up with such a good piece of software that security won’t be much of an issue anymore. Yankee Group believes the number of critical security vulnerabilities that will hit users will be reduced by as much as 80 per cent and the impact of the remaining fraction significantly reduced. For us who has been fighting with Microsoft’s operation systems because of security flaws this almost sound too good to be true, and it almost is.

You see, Vista doesn’t come with all those fantastic features from birth. You have to pay for it. You first buy Vista and if you want the extra security you have to spend some extra cash on getting increased security. However, according to Analyst Andrew Jaquith, many users (like you and I) only need the normal security products from Microsoft, such as Windows Defender to avoid problems.

I’m not sure what I think about all this. The best thing would of course be to make bullet proof software. Microsoft is sitting on a huge market share and when you’re almost forced to buy their products to be able to run any kind of software I don’t fancy the fact that you first have to pay for the operation system and after that you have to pay for security to protect the operation system you just paid for.
