Windows Defender
May 9th, 2006You would be surprised if you knew how many people don’t protect their computer when they’re surfing the internet. I can’t stress this enough; you have to protect yourself on the internet. It only takes one single website with malicious software to screw up a lot for you. I recently spend 3 whole days trying to clean up a notebook with extremely important files and business info on it, without any luck. So you can probaly understand why I try to protect my computers as much as I possible can and that includes Windows Defender.
Windows Defender is a product from Microsoft and it mainly helps you protect yourself against spyware, pop ups and threats caused by spyware and other unwanted software. The reason why I decided to mention it right now is because it’s free and if you don’t want to pay for protection you have other options, like Windows Defender.
When all that is said and done I have to admit that I’m still a huge fan of the older programs like Norton AntiVirus, McAfee and Kaspersky. They are dedicated antivirus programs that has been around for a long time and they are working hard on fighting all kind of things that can hit your computer.
